The Route of the Nativity Scenes is one of the major events on the Olesan Christmas calendar. Sponsored by the Associació de Pessebristes de Olesa, it offers an opportunity to visit the nativity scenes set up in public locations and private residences around the municipality. In this way, the association has recovered the tradition of opening the doors of local homes to display the work done over the course of the year inspired by different scenes of the birth of Jesus.
In total, forty nativity scenes make up a route that has become an established event promoting artistic creativity and tradition, as well as being a way of enhancing social interaction among the local population.
In addition to the Route, also in the Christmas season there is an exhibition of nativity dioramas in the town’s Casa de Cultura cultural center.

OLESA TOURISM
Olesa de Montserrat is a municipality rich in culture and tradition, located in the foothills of the mountain of Montserrat. Olesa de Montserrat is located in the north of the comarca (county) of Baix Llobregat, in the subcomarca of Montserratí, halfway between Barcelona and the Montserrat Monastery. The natural area of the municipality, with its beautiful and magnificent scenery, is bounded by the Llobregat river and the mountain chains of Sant Salvador de les Espases and Puigventós. Olesa’s roots are markedly agricultural; it is noted in particular for its cultivation of olives of the palomar or Olesan variety, native to the region, from which the famous Olesan oil is extracted.
