The Vila d’Olesa Archery Competition is held each year in May or June, depending on the official competition calendar. The championship is open to everyone, from beginners to advanced and veteran archers.
The event takes place in the Agustí Valls, Municipal Archery Field located in the Les Planes neighborhood (near the Salvador Boada Municipal Pavilion and the municipal pool). The archery field has a capacity for 64 archers, and so many competitions, attracting more than 100 participants, have had to be held over two days.
Archery arrived officially in Olesa in 1990, although competitions had been held here prior to that. The organization is recognized as one of the best in Catalonia thanks to the awards it has received, both in team and individual categories.

Olesa de Montserrat is a municipality rich in culture and tradition, located in the foothills of the mountain of Montserrat. Olesa de Montserrat is located in the north of the comarca (county) of Baix Llobregat, in the subcomarca of Montserratí, halfway between Barcelona and the Montserrat Monastery. The natural area of the municipality, with its beautiful and magnificent scenery, is bounded by the Llobregat river and the mountain chains of Sant Salvador de les Espases and Puigventós. Olesa’s roots are markedly agricultural; it is noted in particular for its cultivation of olives of the palomar or Olesan variety, native to the region, from which the famous Olesan oil is extracted.
